Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been earned on hard courts

A resurgent the Russian player claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition final.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging period, winning just a single victory at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's inconsistency on the tennis tour - and issues with his serving in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually parting ways with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.

Currently training with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Corentin Moutet.

This represents the player's maiden title following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court after March of 2023.

The win also means Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at 21 various competitions.

"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my children together, so to win a championship is really nice," commented world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I got when my child my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, including in that event earlier this year.

The player's retrieving play style and regular outbursts on the playing surface had caused some to doubt if his skill to play at the elite level was concluded.

However the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an enhanced serving game.

The champion fought back from a disadvantage in the opening set against the difficult Moutet, taking 4 of the concluding five points to take the lead.

The competitors exchanged break points in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial ATP Tour championship, took control to create a third set.

Moutet defended four early-game chances in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to close out the victory.

Appropriately, the winner clinched the title with a point at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to manage a return after over two and a half hours.
